Coral Survey Results & Expedition Data
Since 2021, Conservation Key has conducted over two dozen pro bono submersible drone surveys for conservation partners, including the Florida Department of Environmental Protection’s Coral Conservation Program, The Reef Institute, The International SeaKeepers Society, and The Surfrider Foundation.
As a result of our surveys, in 2021, our Founder, Marilu Cristina Flores, was awarded the Go Blue Ambassador of the Year Award, which was selected by a panel of judges including Dr. Sylvia Earle, Cristina Mittermeier, Paul Nicklen, and Fabien Cousteau.
Why Are Coral Surveys Important?
Our coral reef surveys help to provide a clear, scientifically testable record of reef health in coral ecosystems. This includes monitoring coral species, reef inhabitant populations, and changes in coral growth patterns.
